The Epic Party and the Storm That Wasn’t. How Lucas Talent Celebrated its 3. Anniversary. Other Lucas Talent parties had set the bar high: the Lucas Lounge 1.

Anniversary Party, the Moulin Rouge, the Cotton Club, numerous Holiday Parties and the Blockbuster Merger Party, held in 2. They were held in venues such as Celebrities, Club Atlantis and The Commodore Ballroom.  They were all smashing successes… other than the one at the Commodore on November 2. That was the night of the 2. Anniversary Pajama Party.  It was the biggest, most ambitious party we had ever planned. Unfortunately, Mother Nature doesn’t care about such things and so she surprised us all with a freak snowstorm.  The Commodore was a cavern at one third of capacity but the hardy few had a wonderful time dancing in the open space and eating the extra food!

Fast forward to October 1. Watch Scooby-Doo 4Shared there. It was the day of the 3. Anniversary Party, we were on Day 3 of Stormageddon and the professional weather folks were talking up that we’d be in for a doozy of rain and high winds.  As the clock counted down to opening, the party committee worked feverishly to prepare the Waldorf for the would- be revelers… but would there be revelers?  This two- floor, three room extravaganza had been poised, through nine months of planning, to be THE biggest, most ambitious Lucas party ever. At around 2: 0. 0 pm, the cancellation calls, texts and emails started to come in.   People were worried about the storm.  It was all over the news.  One client had to cancel because he was asked by his news station to anchor a special “storm broadcast”.  Was history doomed to repeat itself ten years later?  Naw… it all came together and was a total blast!

Tiki Bar while others danced hard in Hideaway.  There were 8. Many say the highlight of the night came from our Kyle Toy, a professional Michael Jackson impersonator.  He did a spectacular medley and brought the down the house!

Folks were kicked out at 2: 3. Lucas Talent Party committee was very happy to hear that the bar minimum spend was easily surpassed and the party was a smashing success!  All look forward to the next big one and maybe we’ll do it in the summer, well away from the winter weather!

Also on LEGENDS OF TOMORROW is Graeme Mc. Comb, recurring as Victor Garber’s younger self. Our favorite red head goes silver for Granny as Beverley Elliott works on her sixth season of ONCE UPON A TIME… and our favorite silver fox Barclay Hope goes red for his recurring role on the highly anticipated RIVERDALE! Matt Frewer’s earned a planeload of frequent flyer points.  He’s recurring on NBC’s new series TIMELESS in Vancouver and ART OF MORE, opposite Dennis Quaid in Montreal.  Also flying high are Fiona Forbes and Mary Zilba with the launch of their new web series BAKED.  The baking- with- pot show is produced by their Lady Pants productions.

Teen heart throb Rhys Bond is shooting his third season on THE GOOD WITCH. Kurt Evans is recurring on three shows: IZOMBIE, THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE and ROGUE!  Agnes Tong,  John Callander and Marcus Sim are recurring on ROMEO SECTION.  Nick Hunnings just wrapped a five episode arc on ROGUE.  Melanie Mc. Laren is off to Ontario to shoot a supporting lead role in the epic feature film INDIAN HORSE.

Antonio Cupo was the male lead in BEACHES, Kyle Toy is recurring on THE ARRANGEMENT, Yukari Komatsu is recurring on THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE and Mike Kovac is recurring on TIN STAR in Calgary.  Amitai Marmorstein has been a busy guy, as he went from a supporting lead opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger on WHY WE’RE KILLING GUNTHER, to recurring on WAYWARD PINES, plus a supporting role on COP AND A HALF. April 1. 5, 2. 01. Spring in Their Steps: Concurrent Successes in Early 2. Keeping Clients Busy.

Some of our clients are busy trying to juggle their schedules this spring! Let’s begin with our directors: David Winning is currently in prep on his 3rd MOW of the year.

Will Waring is in Toronto directing Sy. Fy’s DARK MATTER, then coming back to Vancouver to direct multiple episodes of the Netflix/Showcase series TRAVELERS. Anne Wheeler is currently shooting Hallmark’s STOP THE WEDDING, then heading to Vancouver Island to direct multiple episodes of a new Hallmark series. And now our actors: Kurt Evans is a recurring guest star on the CW hit, i.

ZOMBIE and MC2 for Netflix.  He is also a supporting lead on Hallmark’s THE LAST CHRISTMAS. Emilija Baranac just wrapped a lead role on the Reel One movie UNDERGRAD NIGHTMARE and finished the first of four episodes in a guest- starring arc on BEYOND for ABC Television.  Plus she’ll be seen in the upcoming MOW, LOVE YOU TO DEATH in a lead role. After closing a lead role in the play BAD JEW, Amitai Marmorstein booked a recurring guest star on the Fox series WAYWARD PINES.

He is juggling that with not one but two roles (on camera and an off camera performance) on a TOP SECRET, BIG BUDGET feature being filmed in Vancouver! If you follow us on Facebook, you’ll notice that Dan Payne’s face has been making a regular appearance.  That’s probably because he hasn’t stopped working for more than 5 minutes this year.  He wrapped his season as a recurring guest star on THE GOOD WITCH in Toronto, then did back to back leading roles on Hallmark’s ALL YOURS opposite Nicolette Sheridan and THE LAST DANCE opposite Jenny Garth.  He is currently spending a month in Kelowna shooting a lead in the film THE PLATEAU.

Luke Camilleri is recurring on two highly anticipated series. He is working with the legendary Isabella Rossellini in Hulu’s SHUT EYE and on Barry Sonnenfeld’s A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS starring Neil Patrick Harris and Patrick Warburton. In the midst of all this, he is getting married… sorry ladies. November 6, 2. 01. IT’S A HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS YEAR ROUND IN VANCOUVER…and our clients are in the perpetual holiday spirit… Yule love our list of who shot what in 2. It’s early November. The baristas are stocking the shelves with red cups, the mega retailers are playing holiday standards over tinny speakers and you’re extremely irritated because your pumpkin is still rotting on the porch and you’ve barely made a dent in your Halloween candy.

Yes of course it’s too early to talk Christmas, but in this month’s blog we don’t look ahead at the looming holiday. Instead we look back at the year that was for filmed- in- Vancouver Christmas movies and the clients who shot them! April: Mitchell Kummen and Maggie Estrada worked on the WWE/FOX feature SANTA’S LITTLE HELPER. May: Lee Tichon and Casey Dubois respectively shot Hallmark’s ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS and A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER. June: Casey Dubois and Frank C. Turner worked on UP TV’s A FAMILY FOR CHRISTMAS. Ayva Branzei shot Hallmark’s CHRISTMAS CONFESSIONS.
